What is the condition of the road to the monastery at the moment?

The road is great, there was only one landslide and it is one-way.

I am organizing a study trip to Sofia in April 2020, and would like to visit Rila Monastery. This would be, however, only possible for us on Easter Monday. So is the Rila Monastery open for public on Easter Monday, 20 April 2020?

If we go for a family walk tomorrow, August 12, do I have to buy tickets for the Rila Monastery in advance or can I enter freely? Do I need to know something?

No one was looking for a cloak and an entrance behind the Rilski Manastir. The only platihme parking is BGN 5.

Hi, Is it possible to hike at the 7 lakes at this season ? We are in Sofia for few days this week and we would like visit Rila and the monastery.

Hi, on the 7 Rila lakes in this moment is snow. And in the next 4-6 days is possible to get more snow. You have to be prepared for winter hiking. To the beautiful Rila Monastery you can go with car. From Sofia is about 2 hours.
